Because how much efforts are you willing to take while cutting the grass can vary from person to person. Manual reel mower is the cheapest and can be available from Rs. 5,500-7,000. Electric mower can cost you Rs. 15,000-30,000 depending upon the power it can generate while cutting the grass. Petrol mower can cost you Rs. 45,000-75,000.

So if you go for Manual reel mower instead of Electric or Petrol mower you will have to put extra efforts to push the lawn mower to cut the grass efficiently without spending more from your pocket.

2. Lawn cutting Efficiency

What i mean by lawn cutting efficiency is, how sharp the lawn is going to get cut. Best possible way to cut a lawn is clean horizontal cut ! But it can only be achievable by fast moving and sharp blades. If you cut the lawn with dull blade or with less speed, you are going to break the lawn vertically instead of cutting. which will make it look more yellowish and take more time to recover.

2. Korean Lawn / Taiwan / Bermuda

The above types are not according to variety of lawn. These are all different varieties. The types are according to frequency of cutting and lawn density.

If you have installed American blue or selection one or paspalum, your frequency of lawn cutting will be much higher but cutting the grass is easy comparative to the second group.

Korean, Taiwan or Bermuda has a high density. Because of which using a simple reel mower is very difficult. You can go for electric mower with more power or petrol mower.

4. Commercial or Personal Use

If you want to use the lawn cutting machine commercially, Buy Petrol mower. for Personal use you can go for electric instead of Petrol mower.

5. Maintenance of Lawn mower

Maintenance of Reel mower is much more less compared to Electric or Petrol mower. As you will only have to sharpened the blades in manual reel mower. On the other hand Petrol and Electric mower will need frequent maintenance depending upon how properly a person is using it.

1. If you have Less budget, willing to put extra efforts while cutting the grass and have American, Selection one or paspalum Lawn, go for Manual Reel mower

There are 4 types of lawn grass available in pune :

American lawn is the most rigid lawn from all the other lawn grasses available. Tips of the lawn are smooth. Very lush green colour.

Used for sports grounds, lawn ares, society gardens, wedding halls, etc. Growth rate of lawn is high so you wont see bald patches in between or gets covered up easily. Every branch of the lawn creates roots at every node, so makes it very perfect for high usage areas like football field, society grounds, wedding halls.

Because of the growth rate; it requires frequent mowing. Can be used in full sunlight or semi-shade area, where at least 3-4 hours of sunlight is there.

Taiwan/Korean lawn is mostly used in home gardens, where usage is less and require the lawn to look good.

Tips are pointy and produces a ball after over growth. Only used where soil conditions are good and have sunlight throughout the day.

It doesn't need frequent cutting (usually once in 1.5-2 month) Maintaining the lawn requires fertilization and cutting every 1.5-2 months and watering everyday.

This Grass has big leaves which tends to feel like wild grass. But in conditions where sunlight throughout the day is very minimal, this grass grow better.
